Hello Tummy!

Hi!
So tomorrow makes 16 weeks--I can't believe that's 4 whole months!?! I've got a tummy starting to pop out a bit, too! We've been taking weekly pictures, but its just been this week that it's starting to look like something other than a big lunch, which is pretty exciting!
Things have been good. We are very much looking forward to our next doctor's appointment on the 25th. I'm hoping we might have a chance to find out if its a boy or girl (Lance wouldn't mind the surprise, but I'm making the executive decision on that one!).
I get to go to a friend's baby shower tomorrow (yay, Toni!), so it will be exciting to have a fun baby day! We've been pretty busy, so there hasn't been much time to really reflect on things recently--other than the fleeting thought of "oh, my, has that much time gone by already!?" I'm sure we'll get a bit of a boost once we know what we're having.
I've been feeling pretty good--well, aside from the nasty cold that hit me last week--I'm almost back on my feet--maybe 90%. I have been feeling these odd feelings in my right side--baby movements? I don't know. Its been here and there, so it's possible. I'm not sure how I'll know for sure. I also don't know if its too early to really feel anything at this point. The doctor did say, though, that since I'm a slender person to begin with that I might feel the baby sooner than later. It'll be neat once I really do know when I feel him/her! I'll have to ask the doctor about that--or perhaps I'll know for sure before then!
Well, there isn't too much else to say for now. Hopefully we'll have more pictures when we see the doctor in a couple of weeks.
Love,
Lance and Rosemary

A little scare...well, not so little to me!

Hi Everyone!
We have a new set of pictures to share!
Unfortunately, they are the result of me being in a small car accident. --I was rear-ended as I left campus Monday night. I am okay and so is baby, but it sure gave us a scare. Since I wasn't experiencing any bleeding or cramping, I didn't go the the ER and I didn't get in to see the doctor until Wednesday afternoon. It was such a relief to see the baby kicking and jumping on the screen. The doctor said that everything looked fine. My bloodwork also happened to be in, and that all looked good as well. We did find out that I'll have to get that Rh-factor shot since I'm negative and Lance is positive....boo for more needles. Oh well! I really should get used to them (we won't mention how I cry like a baby everytime they take blood). :o)
Aside from this recent craziness, school is going well. I am pretty busy, but thanks to God's grace, taking it in stride as best I can. Everyone-friends, classmates, and professors alike-has been so supportive and understanding, which has helped as I ease on through the end of this trimester. Tomorrow is 14 weeks and I am officially (depending on which book you read) into the second trimester! It seems so short that I've gotten through one already!
Another notable item--I busted out my first pair of maternity pants today. Since I'm still really in the "inbetween" stage, they're a little loose, but SOOOO much more comfortable. The only problem is that my shirts are not super long, so I feel the need to keep tugging at the bottom so the band on the pants doesn't show. --Such an exciting time!
Well, we'll keep you posted for any other new developments--hopefully no more like this one, though!
Love,
Lance and Rosemary
