Sticky Fingers

No…not the restaurant. So, for the last 3 weeks I’d started to notice that there was this blur/shadow showing up on all my pictures taken with the camera.  A friend of mine recently had to replace her camera for a similar reason, so I was all ready to consult her about what she found.  I mentioned this to Lance today and he takes a look at the pictures I’d just downloaded.  And then his brilliance shown forth…”Are you sure there’s nothing on the lens?”  It was then I realized that I’d been letting Maddy snap a picture here and there as of late. And, sure enough, when I checked the lens, it was covered in sticky who-knows-what.  DOH.  At least we don’t need a new camera yet! Smile

MOPS

I joined the local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group here in Gainesville.  It has only been a month, but we’ve been able to do a couple of events with some of the other moms in the group.  Today we went to a pumpkin patch for a bit.  It was at the church that sponsors/holds the MOPS meetings.  It was open just to us, so the kids were able to run around without having to worry about older kids or tons of people.  There was also a bounce house, which Maddy especially enjoyed.  Tommy only stayed in for a few minutes and was content to return to the church preschool’s toddler playground which was open to us as well.

I’m surprised I actually got a picture of Tommy for the two minutes he was in here.

016

Maddy had a ball posing and cheesing it up for pictures.

021

He just wouldn’t look at the camera!  -At first he was calling all the pumpkins “balls” but quickly started saying “pumpkin.”  He was mesmerized by all the different shapes, sizes, and colors he saw!

022

They spent most of the time running in different directions, so there weren’t too many pictures of the two of them together.  It was impossible to get Tommy to pose/sit with Maddy.  We’ll be going to another pumpkin patch when Lance is off next weekend, so hopefully we can get some other cute pictures then.

024

I think he had something to say about how big this one was. Smile

026

CHEESE!

027

Another great cheeser Smile

028

Proof that Aaron and I were there, too!  I like how he was even looking over at the camera!

038

Tommy liked the little ones that he could pick up and move around.  He spent forever rearranging all of these.

014

This was a few days ago.  We were trying on costumes.  Maddy was the giraffe last year and the Spiderman costume we got from a friend.  It’s too small for Tommy but fits Maddy okay.  She’s planning on being a princess though. Smile

045

Daddy and his boys (bummer that it came out blurry—boys were squirming and the flash was off).

052

Maddy and Tommy were hard at work “fixing” the stroller.

060

Just being cute on the floor chomping away on his fingers as usual.

062

This was too cute.  He was trying so hard to reach for the paci!

A Fun Day Out

Life has been crazy.  Lance had two weeks of night float at the end of September, and let me tell you, that was no fun at all.  Neither one of us slept well as we hive-fived our way in and out of bed.  On the up side, the kids got to see more of him than they have since he started in July.  This month, he’s been on his Emergency Department rotation.  It is shift work, so he’s actually in and out as the hours go, which is nice.  He also has random days/shifts, so we’ve ended up getting to see him a fair amount.  It’s been a nice change up from the first few months.  As such, last week Lance had a day off so we took the kids out to the park.  This is one that has a little pond with turtles in it, so it was a twofer as far as fun things to do went. Smile

001

We made sure to bring some bread so we could feed turtles!

006

At first the turtles were just staying put on the logs and perimeter of the pond.  Lance and I had to toss some pieces of bread closer to them to gain their attention. Smile

012

Maddy was helping Tommy get just the right size of bread to throw.

017

Tommy took a moment to give Aaron a quick kiss on the head. Smile

021

Little Miss Sunshine Smile

023

Happy

027

An actual picture of me!!!

032The best picture we could get of me and the kids…lol.  I’ll take what I can get!

034

Maddy is now officially able to swing on her own!

042

Not sure what he was yelling about.

040

The park is an neighborhood one, and they have sand toys that are provided by the association.  I think Maddy enjoyed playing with them more than Tommy.

048

Mr. Happy!

049

The girls Smile

058

Awesome.  Tommy just wanted his hat back.

062

We went to the mall after the park to grab lunch at the food court Chick Fil A.  We were also going to let them run around at the play area there, but it was closed for some repairs. Sad smile Instead we let them go on one of those coin-operated deals, which we have only ever done once while we lived in Tallahassee.  It was a special treat.

064

Maddy loved it and Tommy spent most of the minute processing what the heck was going on.

076

Post-nap play.

079

I actually bought a book that wasn’t Harry Potter or for work/school.  AND I read it in 2 days.  It was a very good read.  I gave up too much sleep to read it though…lol.  I just couldn’t put it down.  If you’re looking for something, I HIGHLY recommend it.  Now I have to rent the movie.  And find another book/author to read.  I hate the let down/disappointment I feel after finishing a good book.  Any recommendations?

Different day, more swinging.  They just LOVE it.  I’m looking forward to the weather cooling down a bit so I don’t break into a sweat standing there pushing Tommy.

101(HAHA! I just noticed Tommy in the background of this picture!  Makes it that much better!)  I can’t believe Aaron will be 5 months old in just a couple of weeks.  Time is really flying with him; seemingly more so than with the other two.

Germies: 1 Aaron: 0

I figured Aaron getting sick sooner than later was inevitable given the way the other two like to love on him. Well, it was a rough night for Aaron (and mommy). Looks like Tommy's perpetually running nose finally got Aaron. The poor guy is super congested and fussy. He napped for almost two hours in my room this morning and is down again-this time in his room. He woke at 4 am soaked in pee.  That was fun to deal with in terms of trying not to wake Tommy.  I just hope we sleep better tonight.

Just wants to cuddle with mommy.

Morning nap in mommy's room as his bed was still needing some clean up from the night time mess. :o(

Mommy needs a nap, too.
