Another boring visit...

Hello all!
So, if you couldn't tell by the title of this post, there isn't much to share about today's visit as far as change goes. I'm thankful to report that Madeline is still healthy and growing. She has plenty of amniotic fluid around her, and her heartbeat is strong! I'm disappointed to report that things on my end are the same as last week. Still only 1 cm dilated, fully thinned out, and baby down low (+2 station--the doctor asked how it is I'm still walking around!). I'm set to return on Wednesday. If I make it until then we'll go ahead and schedule an induction at that point. Looks like I'll be doing as much walking as I can over the weekend! This lil booger needs to make an appearance!!! :o)
Anyways, I'll be sure to let you know if anything spontaneously happens before the next visit.

Pictures!

So, I thought I'd finally get some new pictures up, as promised. No news on the baby--no contractions or anything. We're just waiting on her and trusting in God's good timing. We'll let you know one way or another as soon as things start moving!

39 Weeks!!!

Two great Craigslist finds!

The bedding set only came with one window valance--I'm trying to track another one down! We'll probably get a rocking chair or glider to put in the corner where the bouncer is.

Door has to stay shut so Chester (our cat) doesn't run in! :) We're trying to keep it a relatively pet-free zone.

The crib was passed on to us thanks to some very kind people! I love the bedding--I kind of splurged on it. :o)

We've got a bassinet in our room for the time being, but the crib is ready and waiting! Got some big kid toys ready to go (thanks, Rachel!) as well.

I hope that everyone has had a great weekend. We look forward to sharing good news soon! I'm back to the doctor Thursday afternoon, so we'll see what happens!

Love,

Still here...

So, we went back to the doctor Wednesday morning--still pretty much the same. Baby looks good--strong heartbeat, lots of fluid, +2 station (nice and low!). It's just all my stuff that's not moving forward much. The doctor said I am 1 cm dilated, but I think that was being generous. He also said I was just a fingertip, and then wrote down the 1 cm. My cervix has come forward a bit, so at least its not quite as posterior as it was. No contractions since those a couple of weeks ago...just a bit of general crampiness (which is something, I suppose--perhaps something is going on down there!). As uncomfortable as I am, I'm not gonna opt for an earlier induction. We'll only go there if we go way over or there's a medical reason to do so. So, we'll just keep playin' this waiting game! I'm getting more and more wrapped up with school, though, so that's definitely been a plus. Next week is pretty much the last week of the semester, so its nice that I've been able to make it all the way through so far! I'll be sure to get updates as soon as I can. I still need to get an update pic or two up, as well as the nursery!
More soon!

Doctor's visit

So, the visit yesterday yielded no exciting info--at least regarding dilation. Still all thinned out (not that you would expect that to change) with her head right there, ready to go. Just gotta get my cervix to start opening up some! :O) (sorry if that's TMI for some of you!) Group B strep came back negative so that's one less thing to worry about (just a routine bacteria some women carry, for those that don't know about it--that means no antibiotics before delivery). We go back next Wednesday morning, so maybe something will change by then.

Bummer...

Just a quick update...contractions were irregular, but painful....lasted from 12 to 5ish that afternoon, then stopped. :o( None since. We were disappointed! Haven't had a chance to post since then as T and W are my busiest days for clinic and class. I have a dr's appt this morning so we'll see if anything down there has changed! :) I'll try and update later today with results!

EEK!

EEK! is right. I'm pretty darn sure that I've been having contractions all day. They haven't been super regular, but painful nonetheless. Don't worry to any family that is reading this--we will call if and when we end up going to the hospital! I'm sitting on the exercise ball at the moment. We'll see if it helps the next time one comes along. I made it through a couple while at the clinic today--thankfully they came just before and after the session with my client. While it's rather painful and a bit scary, its also pretty exciting...I hope this means she'll be coming sooner than later!
Updates to come!

Blueberries!

Lance on the hunt :)
Picking or eating???
It's a blueberry! (I'm such a cheeseball!)
Not the best pic due to lighting, but the man was nice enough to take it for us!

So we ended up going blueberry picking this morning. Today was the last day of the season, so we made it back just in the nick of time! I actually brought and USED the camera this time--just a few shots, but now we have some newer pics. The last few things we've done I've either forgotten the camera, or brought it and didn't use it--its just nuts! Anyways, we had a nice time. I didn't pick as much as last time (Lance had to finish up while I went back and sat in the shade), but we got our full gallon once again! Its a neat little place just 20 minutes outside of Tallahassee (Wacissa Springs). Its a family-owned blueberry patch that you can just go pick a gallon for ten bucks--not bad, and a lot of fun. We thought about driving down to the nearest beach, as we've yet to do that since moving here last summer, but thought it best to stay a bit closer to town just in case Maddy decides to come early.
Hope to post again soon! :)

Hello Again!

37 WEEKS!!!
Hello Again!

Not much has changed since the last post, but I thought I'd attempt to increase the frequency of postings. I also wanted to get an updated picture up (taken today).

Today was a short school day for the two of us (a nice treat!), so we decided to get out and get me walking--see if it might persuade Maddy to make her way down and out :) We walked the Mall for what seemed like forever and then went to Target to pick up the last few items I needed for "The Bag." My legs and...ahem...other places are *still* sore! It was good, though, as I really haven't been doing too much walking or exercise as of late.

Aside from that, not too much news. We don't have any grand plans for the weekend. We might go blueberry picking again tomorrow. I'll have to call the place first as this is the last weekend they're open, so I don't know if there are much left on the trees. We finally ran out of the gallon we picked last time (about a month ago) and we really enjoyed them, so hopefully there will be some left. We see the doctor again next Thursday morning, so I'll try and post that day or Friday unless there is breaking news before then.

Love,

Lance and Rosemary

Busy, Busy!

Hi Everyone!
Once again, I apologize for the long time between postings. This summer semester has been so busy with clinic clients. Course work hasn't been too bad, but each course has additional practica experiences which are keeping me super busy. So much for those naps I keep reading about--the ones they tell me I should be taking! :)
We've kinda fallen behind on the pictures week to week, but I do have some to include here from different days and stuff.
Anywho...updates: Baby Madeline is healthy and well! She just keeps growing! I had my most recent appointment this morning (we started the weekly ones last week), and my doctor tells me I'm already 100% effaced (thinned out cervix). I'm only a fingertip dialated, but I'm sure that will be changning in the coming days! Her head is WAY down low--I can really feel it. I'm becoming increasingly uncomfortable with each passing day, but I know that just means she'll be here sooner than later! We can't wait!
We've had two wonderful showers thrown for us. One was by the girls in my graduate program (Josie, the Hostest with the Mostest and her lovely assistants Mollie and Ann!) and the other by a long time friend (Sarah is the best!) and a new family addition (I love you, Rachel!). We were so blessed by the generosity of our family and friends. This child will be quite well dressed for her first year of life!!! :)
So enough of the blabbing--here are some pictures!

This was taken at 32 1/2 weeks (June 11).

This was me at 34 weeks (6/23)

Ronnie came to visit!!! She's a good friend of mine from UNF in Jacksonville. We had lunch on 7/1.
The wonderful shower with my Speech Path grad buddies on 6/13!
Me and my bud Mollie at the shower on 6/13. She helps keep me sane amidst the insanity of grad school at FSU! We were fellow MS/Ph.D. buddies, but she'll be continuing on without me. :o( Luckily, she and her husband live here in town as "real" Tallahassee people, so we'll still have the chance to hang out while Lance and I are in town!

Anyways, I missed a few belly pictures, I think, but at least I found a moment to update!!! We are pretty much just playing the waiting game now, so hopefully there will be exciting news to come soon. The nursery is almost ready, so I'll try and get a picture or two of that up in the next week. We love you all!!
