Happy Birthday Maddy!

It's our little birthday girl!!!

I wanted to get a post up on Wednesday--Maddy's birthday--but just didn't get a chance to. Hard to believe that it's been one whole year since we welcomed Maddy into our growing little family. She has grown so much and become such a little lady! Her personality continues to emerge with each passing day. She is such a funny girl--quite the smarty pants!

We didn't do anything super-special on Wednesday. We did, however, order her cake from Publix. Maddy donned her way-cute Birthday Girl shirt while we were out and got lots of happy wishes and sweet comments from our fellow Publix shoppers. :) We had a fun evening of family time reminicing over the past year.

Today (Friday the 7th), Maddy had her 12 month check up. While her weight remains in the average range at 20 pounds, 10 ounces, her height--30 3/4 inches--has jumped up to the 80th percentile :) Growing into that long and lean frame like mommy and daddy! She got three shots today, which wasn't fun, but she was a trooper. The pediatrician is happy with how she's doing--no concerns at all.

Maddy has been enjoying a visit from Uncle John and Grandma Rapacz the past couple of days. She's also making the most of her last few days with Uncle Mike and Aunt Rachel before they leave Tallahassee tomorrow after Mike's graduation.

Mommy and Maddy had lunch with the Uncles Rapacz at Decent Pizza. Maddy thought it was more than decent...okay, not the pizza, just the Goldfish crackers mommy brought along. :)

After pizza, we went to Party City to find some things for Maddy's birthday party. Uncles John thought she should try on a hat. Maddy wasn't too sure about that...

Just walkin' around!

This was the day she took her first steps! 7/24/09. The first time she did it, it was completely spontaneous. I was able to get her to do it again afterwards. This video is the third time she did it. As you'll see, I had to entice her by putting a book and a brush on my head...two things she was very interested in at the time. :)

Maddy is getting better at walking...it's happening so quickly! This is just a week later on 7/31.
