We were able to make it to a special PBS-sponsored event this morning to meet Curious George. He has been one of Maddy's favorite characters for the past several months. She's waned on her interest in the TV show as of late, however, and enjoyed reading her books instead--fine by us! It was held at a Zoinks Funstation--a bounce house/Chucky Cheese type of place. For a two hour window, admission was free and they had fun activities set up. Maddy was so excited to see Curious George. If you ask her where we went, she'll tell you we went to "Curious George's house"...lol. She even wore her Curious George socks...went and got them out of her room herself after I told her where we were going!
First, a picture or two of Tommy. We tried him out in the highchair this morning. So far, I've just been using the Bumbo for his feedings. He did pretty well. Maddy was NOT happy about this. She kept trying to climb up the front of it so she could sit in it, too. I almost bought a second highchair last week from a friend's garage sale, but then changed my mind. Perhaps I should have gone ahead after all...oh well!

On the menu today: Sweet potatoes!

They are a little thinner in consistency than the squash was, so he wasn't quite sure what to think. We'll try some more this afternoon.

When we first arrived, we sat down to decorate a hat. George's friend/owner is The Man with the Yellow Hat, for those who aren't familiar with the series.

Daddy started helping her color her hat. She enjoyed using markers.

Mommy had to join in on the coloring fun, too!

Tommy was hanging out in his stroller, per usual! He's getting to be a happier guy these days...thank goodness!

It was serious work.

The finished product!

Maddy walked up and shook George's hand on her own. I stepped back after that to take her picture and she freaked out. She practically climbed up my leg and wouldn't stand alone with him. Daddy had to jump over and take the pictures for us (he had been hanging out at a table watching a sleeping Tommy).

Look at the camera, Maddy!

After meeting George, Lance took Maddy around to play on some stuff. She loved sitting in this Tonka bulldozer. We didn't actually put a token in to run it...she was happy just to do her own thing, which we weren't going to argue with! After this, she went to a couple of other craft stations and made a Curious George mask and completed a coloring sheet. On the way over, she was pushing random buttons on games and won herself 5 tickets. Unfortunately, the only prize you could get for 5 tickets were Tootsie Rolls. We'll be saving those tickets for another time... ;o)

I came here with Maddy once before about a month or so ago. We came during morning toddler time with a few friends from church. She was so scared to go in any of the bounce house set-ups. Today was another story! Lance almost had to crawl in and get her when it was time to go. She had a blast!

We stopped for lunch on the way home. While waiting for the check, Tommy and Maddy had a little giggle-fest. No video, but we got a cute photo!
Maddy bouncin' it up!
